Christmas Day is almost here, and we know you will be looking for meaningful ways to talk about Christ, his birth, and His life.

This lesson bundle teaches kids some of the symbols of Christmas and how each one points us to Christ. We hope this will invite the true spirit of Christmas into your homes this season!

Merry Christmas from our family to yours!

Place all of the shapes in a row in front of the children so that everyone can see them. Then discuss the following questions:

1) If you wanted to say “I love you” to someone without using words, what shape would you want to give to them? (The heart shape!)

2) Why would you choose the heart shape? (Discuss.)

Explain: The heart shape is a symbol for love! Symbols can help us understand many things, and they can also help us remember things. When Heavenly Father teaches us, He often uses symbols! Today we are going to learn about some of the symbols of Christmas!

2) What does it mean to walk in darkness? (It means that we don’t know what to do or where to go. We are lost.)

4) What Christmas symbol reminds us that Jesus Christ is the light of the world? (Christmas lights!)

And it had come to pass, yea, all things, every whit, according to the words of the prophets. And it came to pass also that a new star did appear, according to the word.
